“GOD IS OUR REFUGE AND STRENGHT, A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE. Therefore, will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High. GOD IS IN THE MIDST OF HER; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered His voice, the earth melted. “And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you ANOTHER COMFORTER, that He may abide with you forever; Even the SPIRIT OF TRUTH; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for HE DWELLETH WITH YOU, AND SHALL BE IN YOU. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” John 14:16-18
Really very inspiring and reassuring scriptures worth taking to heart in these trying times in the world! No matter the economic, political, family/marriage, academic, health, emotional, spiritual pressures there maybe around you and the world, wars and rumours of wars which are all end-time pressures, our God wants us to know that He is the Lord of hosts (Lord over all armies or forces whether physical or spiritual); Lord over all challenges! He is our refuge and fortress, hence, a place of assured safety, where no evil can befall us, glory to God! He is our Strength, hence, no weakness of any kind upon us! Let the weak say: I am strong, for the Lord is our unfailing strength! Therefore, we shall not fear for our God is All-powerful and has the last word!
In the midst of any trying or challenging situation, the river of His Spirit flows from the inside of us bringing peace and calmness, joy and freshness! And the Lord assures us of His continual presence- the Lord of hosts is with us to fight our battles and grant victories!
And the Lord Jesus further assures us in John 14, of the Holy Spirit as ANOTHER COMFORTER just like Jesus, who (the Holy Spirit) not only DWELLS/RESIDES WITH us wherever we are, but also LIVES INSIDE OF US, guiding us into all truth, reminding us of God’s great promises in the Bible- I will help you, I am your Healer, your Provider, I will never leave you nor forsake you, I know the thoughts I have for you, thoughts of peace, not of evil to give you future and hope.., and through these strengthening and refreshing us from inside out, and producing in us these great fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faith/faithfulness and self-control, glory to God!
This is your portion as you make and acknowledge the Lord as your strength and refuge, your ever-present help at all times! (May we always be conscious and aware of the Holy Spirit’s presence and cooperate and yield ourselves to Him and His promptings!) Therefore, be still and rest in Him the Lord, that He will handle every matter or challenge around you, and that victoriously, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
