“PEACE I leave with you, My PEACE I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27
“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the PEACE of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phil.4:6-7.
“Thou wilt keep him in PERFECT PEACE, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in Thee.” Isaiah 26:3
Very inspiring and reassuring scriptures on this very important virtue-the peace of God, as spoken by our Lord Jesus (the Prince of Peace-Isaiah 9:6), St Paul and prophet Isaiah!
In this time of festivities and preparations towards the Christmas and end-of-year into new year celebrations, and things we want to do, things we want to buy, to have, give or receive, and or places we want to go…; how important to acknowledge the presence of the Prince of Peace and allow Him to fill our hearts with His peace which passes all understanding!
Also, in the midst of the end-of the-year seasonal pressures as well as end-time economic/financial, environmental, political pressures, family/marriage and relationship matters, health, academic and career matters, etc; all these can bring about lack of peace and worries!
But the Lord Jesus, the Prince of Peace tells us NOT TO LET our hearts to be troubled! Instead, receive His peace- rest, inner calmness, serenity, quietness! In short acknowledge and embrace His presence by the power of the Holy Spirit, look unto Him the Author and Finisher of our faith-Heb.12:1-2!
Note: This peace is not necessarily the absence of the above mentioned or any other challenge in our lives, but acknowledging or being aware of the presence of Jesus, hence, His total control over any matter around us! He is Lord over every storm or challenge! He is there for you and is interested to help you, deliver, comfort, heal, strengthen, provide…, praise God!
What then to do to have and maintain peace?
- Welcome and acknowledge Jesus the Prince of Peace inside and around you-see also Psalm 16:8- I have set the Lord always before me…
- Commit every matter or challenge to the Lord in prayers, and in faith keep thanking and praising Him for answering- see also Psalm 37:3-5.
- Stay your mind, thoughts and imagination always on the Lord and His word and eternal promises- see also Psalm 23! The Lord will surely fulfil His word upon your life. Find the word that speaks about your matter, meditate and declare it upon your life!
As you do the above, may the Lord keep you and fill you always with His PEEFECT PEACE, and may this peace flow from you to others, in Jesus’ name.
Have a blessed, victorious, fruitful and peaceful weekend, Christmas season and daily life in Christ Jesus.
