“If ye LOVE ME, keep my commandments. … He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that LOVETH ME: and he that LOVETH ME shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. … Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man LOVE ME, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” John 14:15,21,23
“If ye keep My commandments, ye shall ABIDE IN MY LOVE; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” John 15:10.
“By this we know that we love the children of God, when we LOVE GOD, and keep His commandments. For this is the LOVE OF GOD, that we keep his commandments: and His commandments are not grievous.” 1John 5:2-3
Very inspiring words and teaching from the very mouth of our Lord Jesus Christ as well as John the beloved apostle, concerning the proof of our love for God! Can you ask yourself how is your love for the Lord? Do you really love Him (this love is agape-selfless, unconditional, not egoistic, willingness to go all the way for Him no matter what it would cost us, even our life!).
Are you willing to obey and promptly every instruction /commandment/word of the Lord? Are you willing to hold unto faith in Him and His word no matter what you might be facing? This is the proof of our love for the Lord Jesus. He tells us that His commandments are not grievous or burdensome-1John 5:3b
Hence, He doesn’t ask us to do what He had not equipped us to do. By His Spirit, the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, who also shades/pours God’s love in our hearts, we are able to yield ourselves in obedience to God. As we love Him and obey Him, both the Lord Jesus and God the Father and of course the Holy Spirit would feel comfortable to dwell in us and operate through us. May we always yield to the Spirit and not the flesh and its lusts and pride of life! May the Lord help us to love Him and hence, obey every word of God, that He be glorified as He realises His eternal purposes in and through our lives, in Jesus’ name.
Have a blessed, victorious and fruitful week and daily life in Christ Jesus filled with love for the Lord.
