“They that TRUST in the LORD shall be as MOUNT ZION, WHICH CANNOT BE REMOVED, BUT ABIDETH FOREVER. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about His people from henceforth even forever. For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.” Psalm 125:1-5
“Thou wilt keep him in PERFECT PEACE, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he TRUSTETH in thee. TRUST ye in the LORD forever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is EVERLASTING STRENGTH.” Isaiah 26:3-4
Very inspiring and reassuring scriptures from king David the psalmist and prophet Isaiah as inspired by the Holy Spirit, which we should take to heart! It’s about the blessing of trusting- having confidence, relying on, looking unto, depending on, resting on, acknowledging the Lord and His presence in our lives and circumstances.
These blessings include:
- not being removed or moved or panicking no matter the pressure or trouble around us.
- God’s powerful protection of our lives and preservation of what belongs to us (hence, He keeps my lot secure-Psalm 16:5-6)
- the Lord shows/manifests His goodness upon us (also Psalm 23:6)
- God fills us with perfect peace-Shalom, nothing broken, nothing missing, everything under His control, rest of mind, health spiritually, emotionally and physically
- The Lord is our EVERLASTING STRENGTH, hence, no weakness, but strong always again spiritually, emotionally and physically. What amazing blessings of trusting the Lord and His infallible word!
May all these be your portion as you trust the Lord, in Jesus’ name.
