“Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, this is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.” Zech.4:6-7
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8
“But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Rom.8:11.
Very inspiring and powerful scriptures on the glorious workings and power of the Holy Spirit! Indeed, all things are possible by the help of the Holy Spirit. The Lord equips and empowers us by His Spirit to carry out the assignment He gives to us and to live out Christ-like life that pleases Him. By this same Spirit, the Lord inspired and empowered Zerubbabel, the then governor of Judah to supervise the mountainous hard task of rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem destroyed by the Babylonians several years earlier! And indeed, the Lord helped him achieve this by the Spirit as He further said: ‘The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands shall also finish it. Then, you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you’-Zech.4:8-9! See also Haggai 2:4-5, as the Spirit empowered him, Joshua the high priest and the people to do the work and it was accomplished! Likewise, the Lord empowers you by His Spirit to do any assignment or work He gives you, or go through any challenge and be victorious, no matter how difficult it may look from human point of view. Rely on and call upon the Spirit of the Lord with whom all things are possible!
We see also that the Lord told His disciples that they will receive the power of the Holy Spirit that will enable them do miraculous signs and wonders starting from Jerusalem to Judea, to Samaria and across the world.And this was fulfilled in Acts 2 and many other great workings of the Lord in the Book of Acts through the hands of the apostles by the Holy Spirit- salvation, healings, creative miracles, deliverances, raising the dead back to life, boldness in going everywhere to preach the gospel not fearing the threats of deaths and imprisonment by authorities! Glory to God! It is all by the Holy Spirit!
Likewise, this Same Spirit in here to empower and quicken you and me to be witness for Jesus and to manifest His power. So, desire to be filled continually with the Spirit like the early apostles and be led by Him! – Eph.5:18; Rom.8:14-17.
And if there is any hopeless situation in your life, any seemingly dead issue where you don’t see a way of escape, may the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead breathe upon that situation or upon your body bringing life and hope, in Jesus’ name!
May you acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit, our Parakletus (in Greek)- meaning Helper, Strengthener, Comforter, Encourager. See John 14:16,17,26. He is ALL we need and with Him, we can do all things! The Lord Jesus says: ‘I am with you always even till the end of the age’! Mat.28:20. He is with us by His Spirit always and everywhere to help us have victories, breakthroughs and solutions to all situations and peace of God, glory to God!
May the Holy Spirit take His rightful place in your and my life, in Jesus’ name!
