“And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake Him, and say unto Him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, PEACE, BE STILL. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And He said unto them, why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, what manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?” Mark 4:37-41
A very inspiring and powerful passage showing what happens when we acknowledge the power and presence of the Prince of peace, the Lord Jesus Christ (Isaiah 9:6) inside the boat of our lives! Then we shall have no doubt or fear, no matter the storm or challenge around us!
Unfortunately, the disciples of Jesus in this story didn’t really know their Lord Jesus, and what He can do, that He has power over the sea and storm. After all by Him (the Lord Jesus), for Him and through Him all things were created whether they be thrones, principalities and powers… Col.1:15-17.
Thank God that by the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of us (another Comforter, Helper, Strengthener, Advocate-John 14:16-17), we have the presence and power of Jesus present with us in every storm or challenge. Hence, we will not sink or be destroyed by any storm because He is there for us and will deliver us-see also Isaiah 43:2-3.
Also, in the above story the Lord was rebuking the disciples for being fearful and not acknowledging His presance and power within them. They could by themselves also have rebuked the storm and declared peace be still!
Lessons:
- We should always acknowledge the presence and power of the Holy Spirit inside us no matter any storm or challenge in life.
- Always remember that the Lord’s Spirit and power inside of us just like it was with Jesus when He was on earth can handle every situation or storm around our lives, hence, no fear whatsoever!
- In faith speak to the storm just as Jesus spoke: ‘Peace be still’, and expect the storm to calm down! What are the storms or challenges around you? Keep declaring in the name of Jesus Christ: ‘Peace be still’, and see with the eye of faith the storm calming down! No matter any negativity you see after this declaration, keep declaring it and DON’T DOUBT!
And the Lord will bring calmness and solution to the matter around you, in Jesus’ name!
Then start praising and thanking Him in faith for calming down the storm, delivering and or bringing solution to the matter around you -whether spiritual, emotional, marital/family/relationship, career, health, academic, financial, etc. Always there is for you Victory in Jesus, amen!
And may the Lord Almighty silence and bring calmness every storm around your life and help you get to your God-ordained destiny in every area of your life, in Jesus’ name, amen.
